It is occasionally jarring to have something you just had somewhere else re-open right up at top left time and again, so I will implement it in some kind of fashion, using a simple log file to parse, and match to the current file if there…append a new record if not.

Anybody know if there's a file system fileID number I can check against, rather than go by match of name first, then match up the rest as to dirID, and vRefnum, etc? Would be easier than saving aliases, etc. 

I seem to recall mention of such, in conjunction with a CFURL, but might be mistaken.
