THE UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST

SECTION 1:  HIS PRE-EXISTENCE
   1. Who is "the Word?" (John 1:1-3, 14, 17)
   2. How long has He existed?  (Colossians 1:15-1;7)
   3. What was His pre-existent function?  (John 17:5)
   4. What is Jesus' relationship with God?  (John 10:30)


   5. Why did the Jews attempt to stone Jesus?  (John 8:58-59)


APPLICATION:  Why do people today persecute Christians?



SECTION II:  HIS INCARNATION
   1.  How did God communicate with Mary?  (Luke 1:26-28)


   2. Why was Mary troubled over the announcement of Jesus?  (Luke 1:29-34)


   3. How did the conception of Jesus take place?  (Luke 1:35)


   4. Where was Jesus born?  (Luke 2: 1-7)


   5. If Jesus was pre-existent, how do we know He was truly human? (John
      4:4-7, Matt. 4:2, John 11:35)


APPLICATION:  Knowing Jesus was 100% human, how does that make you feel about
              your relationship with Him?


SECTION III:  HIS LIFE
  1.  Although Jesus was tempted as all men are, in what ways is He different
    from us?  (Heb. 4: 15)



  2. What do you learn about Jesus' character from the following incidents?
    (John 2: 13- 16)

  3. What was even more important than Christ's effective teaching methods?

  4. Jesus demonstrated His power to do miracles.  What was His purpose here?

APPLICATION:  In light of what Jesus said and did, what does His life say about
               Christianity in contrast to religions?


SECTION IV:  HIS CRUCIFIXION
  1.  What does God say about all men? (Rom. 3:23)


  2. What is the result of sin? (Rom. 6:23)


  3. Why did Christ die for us? (I Pet. 3: 18)


  4. What happened on the cross? (Il Cor. 5:21 and I Peter 2:24)
    What is the result of the crucifixion for you?


  5. How does the death of Christ apply to us so we can be saved? (Acts 16:31)
    Why can't we work for our salvation by doing good deeds? (Eph. 2:8 9)


APPLICATION:  How does the crucifixion relate to you?  (Rom. 6:6)


SECTION V: HIS RESURRECTION
  1.  What did Jesus foretell to His disciples? (Luke 18:31-33)


  2. After His death, what did Jesus' friends do to make sure His body would
    not be removed?  (Mark 15:46)


  3. What did His enemies do to make sure His body would not be taken?
    (Matt. 27:62-66)


  4. Who actually saw the risen Christ?  (I Cor. 15:4-8)


  5.  When Christ appeared to His followers, what things did He do to prove
    it was not an hallucination?  (Luke 24:36-43)


APPLICATIONS  What does the resurrection tell us about
       a.  Jesus Christ?  (Romans 1:4)


       b.  The power God can now exercise in our lives? (Eph. 1:19-20)


       c.  What will eventually happen to our bodies?  (Philippians 3:21)


SECTION VI:  HIS ASCENSION
  1.  What was to happen to the disciples after Jesus ascended into heaven?
    What would be the result of this happening?  (Acts 1:3-11)


  2.  Why did Jesus ascend into heaven?  (John 14:1-4)


  3.  To what place of authority has Christ ascended?  (Eph 1:20-21)


  4.  What is Christ's relationship to the church?  (Eph. 1:22-23)


  5.  What is Jesus doing for us right now at God's right hand?  (Rom. 8:34)


APPLICATION:  Jesus "sat down" after He ascended.  What does this imply?
              (Heb.  1:3)


SECTION V:  HIS SECOND COMING
  1.  How will Jesus return?  (Matt. 24:27)


  2.  Who knows the next time of Christ's return?  (Mark 13:32-34)


  3.  What will the world be like when He comes?  (Matt. 24:4-14)


  4.  What will happen upon His arrival?  (I Thess. 4:13-17 and Matt. 16:27)


  5.  With Jesus our Savior, of what can we be confident?  (I Thess. 5:9-10)


APPLICATION:  When Christ comes again, what should He find us doing?  (Mark 13:
